We are a pokemon/his dark materials crossover roleplay that takes place in a new region formed from the sea that has been named the tsuin region, meaning twins. Unlike in normal regions tsuin has a rather strange connection with pokemon, whenever somoene is born a pokemon is born beside them as a soulmate! These pokemon are decided by your deepest heart of hearts and ultimately represent you as a person.
05/08 grand opening! we welcome everyone to dbmh's grand opening. we have a lot of fun things in store for you and we hope you enjoy every little thing. as always if you have any questions please let a staff member know. currently we have a opening promo that will be going on for a little while so make sure to get something good from that before it ends!
Spring is in the air! The combee are about and as lively as ever. It is to be nothing but clear skys for the next month or so. Make sure to pack some light clothing as the weather is only going to get warmer from here on out till summer comes around. at this time, there are no swarms happening, but this will be edited when one does appear and a link will be given where all characters may go to capture these swarm pokemon!

With the Kyruka Contest coming up, Samuel realized he wanted a bit more flexibility in his Pokémon team. It was his home town, after all, and while he wasn't the arrogant-type to go in with the false confidence to win, he didn't want to embarrass himself in front of the friends and family who would come to see him. Sure, he had a lot more Pokémon than he expected to by the time he made back home, but he didn't exactly know what to do with them yet. Sure, his Trapinch was more than equipped with the moves he tried to show up for a cool performance, but he was still just a baby that Sam wasn't willing to risk using just yet. His Swablu was still too nervous to even risk bringing him on stage, and the Fletchling barely even respected him. He wanted to try and work with her, talk her into the magnificence that would be out-shining her opponent, but it was likely she'd be more brute force than performance-based.
So, he found his way to the Safari Zone. After registering with the girl who let him by for his first trip, Sam packed the 20 Safari Balls into his belt and pockets and stepped through the door, anxious to see what kinds of Pokémon he could run into.

The first Pokémon Sam came across was a smaller Charmeleon. While Sam had been hoping to find a Fire-type, he hadn't been expecting something as rare as an evolved Kanto starter. It was impressive to see, to say the least, and coming from the city of Fire, it was definitely exciting. Not wanting to off-set the Pokémon, he inched slowly, careful not to make too sudden of moves.
"Hi there. The name's Sam, I'm a coordinator." Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a small portion of the food given to him by the receptionist. "I come from the City of Fire, so I've seen lots of strong Fire-types in my day. You look like eyou could be one of them." Reaching out very gently, the blue-haired man tried to offer the food to him while appealing to the Pokémon's growth-aspirations that he hoped existed.

Sam smiled widely as the Charmeleon seemed to warm up (and not in a dangerous way) to him and the food offering. As he plucked the food out of his hand, the Coordinator decided to be daredevil-y enough to fully step closer to the Pokémon. Inhaling quietly, he spoke again, hoping to make the connection a bit stronger. "How does that taste? I hear the food here is pretty good."
Hesitating a bit, he decided to mention his other Pokémon. "Me and my Pokémon are relatively new together, but it's been a fun time so far. We've got a contest coming up soon!" Unsure of if the Pokémon would be keen to it, he decided to be honest. "I'm a coordinator, so if you wanted to come with me, you could definitely become a star while becoming stronger!"

With the Charmeleon allowing him to be close, Sam could tell he had said enough of the right things. Pulling out one of the Safari Balls from his pocket, he held it out to the Pokémon, inviting him to push the button himself. "If you push that small white button, you'll be taken into the Pokéball. After a little bit, it'll seal and that'll mean you're apart of my team!" Nodding gently to make him more comfortable with the idea, Sam waited.

This male is quite the curious type, he is easy to make friends with but he will want to know everything about you in exchange. He knows no bounds and will do anything to find some information out. To win his full heart he will need a caring trainer that will put forth time and show him the world is more than just an information source.

As the Fire-type entered the capsule, Sam thought about the future appeals and battles he could do with him. While it was surely a while before he would evolve, Fire-types all had a knack for beautiful moves and the potential for a lot of combinations. With some training and practice, surely this Charmeleon would prove to be a fantastic contest partner.
Hearing the final ping of a captured Pokémon, the Coordinator picked up the Safari Ball and placed it back on his belt confidently. With 19 more attempts of capture to go and hopefully a fair amount of time, he walked onward, this time heading toward a beautifully decorated lake. The water was much clearer than he would've expected out of the habitat and had foliage to compliment. Hopefully he would be able to see some incredible water-types to supplement his team.

While looking into the water, Sam almost missed the Pokémon on the other side of the pond as him. His focus was so much on finding a beautiful water-type that it wasn't until he noticed a slight fragrance wafting into his nose. It was nice, but very faint, as if the Pokémon it originated from wasn't trying to do it. As he looked up, his gaze caught the Grass and Poison-type Pokémon checking herself out in the water.
Smiling to himself, Sam wondered if this Pokémon was the vain type. While vanity wasn't necessarily a great trait, he couldn't help but think that a Pokémon invested in her own appearance would make for another great Appeals partner. Plus, she would love to be pampered and groomed like he planned to do before contests, something that he figured his Fletchling was almost definitely going to fight him on.
It can't hurt to at least test the waters, right? After he decided to give it a shot, Sam walked around the water and eased his way back to the side. A few feet away, he looked over to the Vileplume before smiling at her, putting on his best impressed expression. "I bet you're liking the view. You're one good looking Grass-type!"

It appeared that the Vileplume wasn't as approachable as he had hoped. When she saw him, she appeared scared and began waving her small arms in a rhythmic motion and danced back and forth. Brilliant pink waves of energy began to emit from the ring in the center of her petals and as they washed over the coordinator, he felt an overwhelming urge to start dancing the same way. Swaying back and forth and moving his arms, Sam smiled at the move, feeling a little dazed as the dance affected him.
"Hey, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to scare you!" He tried to calm her down with his words through giggles and a large, dopey grin. It was hard to use a soothing tone through his slightly scrambled mind, but he didn't want to give up on her just yet, especially not on a scared note.
