AWAII CONTEST HALL
overviewThe Awaii Contest Hall is the center of the celebrity culture of Awaii City. The high wattage of the city is seen clearly with outstanding light displays that decorate the whole of the large and elaborate building. Inside, the lighting consists of fantastically colorful displays. Occasionally, there are famous Coordinators invited to judge and hold their own sponsored Contests, usually with higher standards for the participants to have accomplished prior to registering.
general rulesAll characters can participate in contests, however registered coordinators will be taken as top priority. This means that if there is an excess in sign-ups, the coordinators will fill the allotted spots first and the remaining availability will be on a first come, first serve basis. For certain contests held in this city, only registered coordinators may participate, or there may be a requirement of a certain number of ribbon points.
round one: appeals
- Up to 3 posts each with a word count cap of 800 words.
- In each post, a maximum of two moves may be used.
- Categories of grading (Realism, Creativity, Quality, Overall) will each have a scale of 0 - 25 to add up to a total of 100 points possible.
- Judging will happen at the very end of the appeal with all posts taken into account in a singular grade. If there are any questions about judging, questions should be taken to the staff member who did the judging or an administrator through Private Message.
- The top 4 or 8 Coordinators (depending on how many participants are at the start) will move on to the Battle Round!
round two: battles
- In the Awaii Contest Hall, the battles will be different than the rest. For the beginning battle rounds, two coordinators will be pitted against two coordinators until only two are left standing, in which case they will be pitted against each other. All coordinators will participate with one Pokémon each that will be changeable between rounds.
- Word cap of 700 words per post.
- JUDGING: Same categories as above, except instead of adding up to a total of 100, each side has a total of 100 to be subtracted from.
- Judging will happen after every round of posting, meaning the Coordinators have to wait for a mod-judge to at least post a filler before going on to the next round. If there are any questions about judging, questions should be taken to the staff member who did the judging or an administrator through Private Message.
- If either side reaches 0 points before the end of the battle, the battle is automatically over. The same goes for if one of the Pokémon faints. However, unlike in the anime, if a Pokémon faints, it doesn’t have to mean they lost if the winning Pokémon didn’t do anything appealing and just hammered down with attacks.
- For battles after the first round, the same Pokémon must be used.
