WILL I BE THE PERFECT RANGER I WANT TO BE?
It's been several hours since Lindsay had began her journey to the safari zone, and by then, most people would've bailed the trip there, but the determination she had for finding a partner Pokemon was stronger than most, and no matter how long it took, she was going to complete this goal. The Staraptor the two were flying on, both Lindsay and Ponyta, was beginning to get weary by the time they were nearly to the destination. At first, Lindsay was thinking of pushing the poor Pokemon towards taking them all the way there, but she knew it wasn't fare for the poor Pokemon, so they landed instead. Once they landed in a gingerly fashion, the Ponyta hopped off the exhausted Staraptor and transformed back to a Pokemon. The Pokemon herself gave Lindsay and nod before saying, "Good choice. If you were going to drag the poor creature any further, I would've bitten you!"
The young Ponyta was obviously joking around, like usual, so Lindsay only giggled. Even around Ponyta, who was her true conscious, Lindsay didn't speak too often. It wasn't because she disliked talking to the Pokemon, but more because she wasn't used to talking to anyone. Pokemon included. Instead, she looked over at the Staraptor with a gentle smile and gave it some water from her water bottle. Sadly that was all she had, but the feeling of doing something right was better than the feeling of being hydrated. Illogical, sure, but it was true.
"Come on, Ponyta. We should head to the Safari Zone."
With a medium stride, the two continued their journey to the safari zone, which was no more than a few minutes away, walking wise. During these few minutes of peace, Lindsay thought about how no mistakes were made so far today, and that today may be another perfect day. If so, that meant one thing. She'll choose the right Partner Pokemon. With this hope bubbling up inside her stomach like water in a pot, she walked right up to the safari zone with Ponyta by her side. "Hello...? Anyone there?" She called out once she entered the mysterious place.
Lyra was left in charge of taking in guests at the Safari Zone today. Sure, she should be thrilled, right? A new chance to prove how responsible she was? But no, instead, she was bored out of her mind! Attendance at the Safari zone had been plummeting and there was no guarantee even a single trainer would come in today. Why, if someone did come in, she'd be rather shocked! And so she waited...and waited...and waited some more as she rested her elbows on the counter, staring ahead with nothing to do.
It had been a rather dull day at the Safari zone until the sound of the door opening alerted Lyra that someone had come. Perking up, she smiled, standing straight as she looked at the woman entering with her Ponyta. "Hello and welcome to the Safari Zone. Is this your first time?" She spoke formally as a small chatot sat in the corner, twisting his head this way and that way to take in the scene. "New ranger? I see no pokemon on your belt!" The chatot flew over, landing on Lyra's shoulder. "Oh dear, you're right. You must be here to get your partner." Lyra moved over to the computer, typing in a few things before glancing up. "I just need your name and then we can get you set up." Lyra smiled a bit as she picked up a small pokeball from under the desk. "The rules are simple enough. You look around for a pokemon partner and you try to catch it when you spot the perfect one. You're allowed six encounters in all before we'll call you back in. Any questions?" Without waiting for the woman's answer, Lyra began typing away once more. She was setting up the card for the ranger to get her journey started.

WILL I BE THE PERFECT RANGER I WANT TO BE?
As she entered the marvelous area, which intensely oozed out nothing more than mysteriousness, Lindsay looked around at each wall she passed by with nothing less than utter curiosity. However, she was deathly anxious to see what it would be like entering the zone, and what Pokemon she would be catching. For her, she wasn't aiming to catch the perfect Pokemon strength wise, but the perfect Pokemon for her. She wanted a partner who would connect with her, one way or another, and not make it so the journey is just a pain for the both of them. Though, with her nature to find something to mess up, the girl was fearful towards the possibility that she would catch the wrong Pokemon. What a disaster that would be!
Shuddering from the pure thought of such a horrid thing, the white haired female slowly walked forward with Ponyta by her side. The sound of their feet, or hooves, colliding against the tile floor loudly sang it's annoying song in perfect tempo with one another. Though, the two differed when walking, considering how her lovely soul Pokemon was actually happily bouncing over, unlike Lindsay, who was beginning to shake more and more with each unsure step towards the counter.. "I'm L-Lindsay Fareclaw, and I have no questions." She mumbled, stuttering for the first time in forever. It wasn't exactly rare to see her stutter, yet it wasn't common. The chance of it appearing in her frail voice depended on her current mental state. At the moment she was quite anxious, so of course it wouldn't be the time where her voice would project as something strong and powerful.
Lindsay pushed a strain from her stunning eyes as she waiting for the woman to give further instructions. It wasn't too bad for her though, considering the chatot was amusing to watch all by itself. The Pokemon was just naturally calming, making a smile actually curl unknowingly. "That's the sprite! Just try to smile, Lindsay!"
Lyra nodded with a smile, typing a few more details into the computer before ushering toward the door. "Your pokemon awaits you! Good luck on finding what you're looking for! Sometimes, the safari will surprise you with something you didn't even realize you wanted!" Lyra laughed softly, petting Chatot's head. She leaned back a bit, setting the ball in front of Lindsay so that the woman could begin her hunt.
As the door would be opened, a bright patch of grass stood before the duo, the sun high in the sky. There seemed to be different paths to follow but before anyone could even think of choosing a path, there stood a Deerling, grazing among the scenery. His spring coat was out, brilliantly dusted in pink. He didn't seem to notice Lindsay just yet, enjoying his peaceful luxury instead.
A WILD DEERLING APPEARED! LEVEL 5, SERENE GRACE TACKLE, CAMOUFLAGE, GROWL ITS LOOKING AT THE SCENERY!

WILL I BE THE PERFECT RANGER I WANT TO BE?
Once her azurill colored orbs rested upon the lovely sight of the peaceful Deerling, a smile found itself creeping on Lindsay's pale face. She found the Deerling absolutely precious, loving the way it's eyes glimmered in the light in a way that you can tell it's special. Not only that, but the Pokemon's light pink, spring coat made her heart skip with joy, reminding her of the sakura trees that used to grow nearby her house, and how her parents and her would stare at them for hours during the cool spring days the earth would bring upon the small town. Those memories were what drove her to be the great ranger she wants to be, so it's only fitting that a Pokemon who brings such memories back to life should be perfect for her, right?
Honestly, Lindsay didn't know, and that fact truly scared even her.
"Deep breaths, Lindsay. You can do it." Her Ponyta reminded her with a concerned smile, feeling the distress the girl was going through. The Pokemon always did know how to calm her down. With a determined nod and reassuring smile, the girl waddled over to the under leveled Deerling in a cautious fashion, not allowing her feet to even come near any of the fallen leaves or twigs that scattered the area in certain places. "H-hello..." She called out to the Pokemon, smiling in a polite manner as she takes out some Poke food for the creature. When the food was carefully placed in the center of her hand, she began to slowly make her way towards the Deerling, trying to seem like the perfect Ranger a Pokemon would want to be with. "You're a cute little Deerling, now aren't you?"
A small giggle erupted from her thin lips, and even Ponyta, who was following Lindsay the whole time smiled at the stranger, cocking it's head in the right, showing it's curiosity for the Pink coated beauty.

WILL I BE THE PERFECT RANGER I WANT TO BE?
Lindsay stood there shocked, taking a step back from the sudden harshness of the voice. She didn't expect such a cute little thing to have such a voice, which resembled her's whenever she was angry, but not as strict. Ponyta, however, did see how they were similar and began to look down in a depressed fashion. The poor pokemon was probably hoping for a friendlier pokemon friend. Not this. "Um... I'm sorry, fella." She spoke softly, kneeling down as she attempted to hand the Deerling some food. "Now looking at you, you appear to be quite manly..."
Her head was lightly nodding after she said this, and so was Ponyta's. They both knew this little fry could possibly be their newest member of the group, yet Lindsay had her doubts. Unless she could woo the pokemon with her words, nothing was going to happen. This worried her, for if this little bond didn't happen, then how would it happen with the other pokemon she's bond to accouter.
She's a little less than perfection, heh?
Lindsay shook her head. No, this couldn't be right. She couldn't leave room for errors anymore; she had to woo this Pokemon over and at least know one was willing to come with her.

WILL I BE THE PERFECT RANGER I WANT TO BE?
Lindsay smile faded, slowly melting into a frown. It broke her heart that she messed up so badly that a pokemon wouldn't even accept her food, even though it may have been hungry. With a sigh she placed the little bits of food into her pocket before turning back to the magnificent creature who appeared to be angered by Lindsay's previous choice of words. "I'm sorry, Deerling. Can you please forgive me for forgetting your manliness?" As those interesting words left her mouth, she felt like she was almost joking around. Forgetting your manliness? The thought of that almost made her want to laugh, but she couldn't. Apparently such a subject was extremely sensitive for this pokemon, so laughing would do nothing less than ruin everything for her. So instead, she simply smiled and continue to reach out, in hopes of petting the little guy gently.
"I know I'm not the strongest ranger, but I would love to have a manly pokemon, like yourself, join my team. You could definitely fill in my lack of strength." Her aqua eyes glimmered lightly as she said this, leaving a hint of innocence. All she needed to do was have him show at least a little interest in joining her team. Just a little. If so, she can possibly see if they could truly work in a healthy partnership, and not a corrupted one.
