SHOUSHI CONTEST HALL
overviewThe Shoushi Contest Hall reflects the architecturally grandness of the city. As a result, the building has a very complex design. On the exterior, it varies greatly from the standard design, many decorative arches outline the entrance and the ceiling is made of firmly placed glass that can open on control. Inside, the contest hall offers the most flexibility in the region for appeals and battles with various terrains and ecosystems upon the coordinators control.general rulesAll characters can participate in contests, however registered coordinators will be taken as top priority. This means that if there is an excess in sign-ups, the coordinators will fill the allotted spots first and the remaining availability will be on a first come, first serve basis.
round one: appeals
- Up to 3 posts each with a word count cap of 800 words.
- Because of the uniqueness of this contest hall, an additional maximum of 300 words total may be used over the course of the appeal to describe the environment the coordinator requested. Please keep them realistic and generic, while it is a unique feature, the ecosystems are standard and cannot be too specialized.
- In each post, a maximum of two moves may be used.
- Categories of grading (Realism, Creativity, Quality, Overall) will each have a scale of 0 - 25 to add up to a total of 100 points possible.
- Judging will happen at the very end of the appeal with all posts taken into account in a singular grade. If there are any questions about judging, questions should be taken to the staff member who did the judging or an administrator through Private Message.
- The top 2, 4, or 8 Coordinators (depending on how many participants are at the start) will move on to the Battle Round!
round two: battles
- In the Shoushi Contest Hall, the battles will consist of two-on-two battles. When the participant registers, he or she must identify if he or she plans to use the same Pokémon as the appeal or identify the potentially battling Pokémon.
- Word cap of 700 words per post.
- JUDGING: Same categories as above, except instead of adding up to a total of 100, each side has a total of 100 to be subtracted from.
- Judging will happen after every round of posting, meaning the Coordinators have to wait for a mod-judge to at least post a filler before going on to the next round. If there are any questions about judging, questions should be taken to the staff member who did the judging or an administrator through Private Message.
- If either side reaches 0 points before the end of the battle, the battle is automatically over. The same goes for if one of the Pokémon faints. However, unlike in the anime, if a Pokémon faints, it doesn’t have to mean they lost if the winning Pokémon didn’t do anything appealing and just hammered down with attacks.
- For battles after the first round, the same Pokémon must be used.
